British bestselling author of uplifting, feel-good fiction
I’m Phaedra Patrick, a British author of eight novels — five of which have been USA Today bestsellers. My books have sold over one million copies, been translated into more than 25 languages, and one has been adapted for film.
My debut novel, The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper, became an international bestseller and won the Prix des Lectrices in France. Film rights were optioned by a major Hollywood Studio.
My second novel, Rise and Shine Benedict Stone, was adapted into a Hallmark Original movie in 2021, and The Library of Lost and Found, was selected as The Great North West Read 2019, reaching readers in over 300 libraries across the region.
Since then, I’ve continued to write uplifting, character-driven stories. These include, The Secrets of Love Story Bridge (The Secrets of Sunshine in the UK), The Messy Lives of Book People — a Barnes & Noble Fiction Pick — and The Little Italian Hotel, which has also been optioned for screen adaptation.
My most recent novels include The Year of What If and The Time Hop Coffee Shop, which became an instant USA Today bestseller.
Before becoming a full-time author, I trained as a stained glass artist and later worked in marketing and communications, including running a film festival.
I am a self-taught author whose early success came from entering and winning short story competitions before I went on to write novels from my home in Saddleworth, UK.
I am represented by Clare Wallace at Darley Anderson Agency and Associates.
